It goes without saying: everyone likes burgers, adults and children included. Whether it’s a meat burger, a salmon trout burger, or a vegan burger, it’s always a great choice. Even many vegetarians and vegans don’t want to give it up, and that’s why there are also completely plant-based versions. Therefore, we can say it’s a very popular meal all over the world. Those who love meat often resort to fast food places without contemplating how unhealthy it is! But why not try to prepare it for lunch or dinner directly at home?

It’s not difficult to prepare, and, in addition to the main ingredient, we can put anything that comes to mind in it…You’ll find some really intriguing hints and suggestions if you read on!

From the choice of meat or fish to that of other ingredients

It’s usually a wonderful idea to make a beef or trout burger at home rather than dining out. However, we must not forget that we are the ones who have the power to make it as genuine as possible, and this depends a lot on the choice of ingredients. In this regard, remember that first of all, the meat must be fresh and, if possible, not fatty.

Thus, in order to make a decent burger, you should select high-quality products; the best beef is always found in the supermarket’s butcher department. You should also choose minced meat (to be used for the manual creation of the burger) or those already made but not frozen. You will be able to avoid using as many preservatives and, naturally, savour a more robust and traditional beef flavour.

Additionally, keep in mind that turkey burgers, which are undoubtedly lighter, are accessible for individuals who wish to maintain their ideal weight. After selecting the meat, the next thing to decide is what else you want. Cheese, sauces, or vegetables? Once more, you can try your best to choose preservative-free organic ingredients. Regarding sauces, it’s important to avoid using excessive amounts in any case. What about the bread?
Be advised that fresh burger buns can be obtained in the bakery area of some supermarkets. In some cases, they are also found wholemeal or with cereals, and they are always very soft and suitable for these preparations.

The grill will help you prepare a delicious burger!

As you may have learnt, making burgers at home is usually a good habit, and we can do our best by picking the ingredients carefully. However, if you want to enjoy meat with a perfect consistency, you can take advantage of a healthy cooking method that helps the meat lose a lot of fat. You can do so by using a good grill pan. By choosing a resistant one that is free of harmful substances, you can enjoy your meal with great taste and in a more genuine way!

In this case, we can present a burger with an amazing and distinctive flavour. In practice, with the right ingredients and an excellent grill pan, we can make a difference in the kitchen and leave everyone happy and satisfied!

The goodness of a grilled burger

A delicious grilled burger is loved by all. Without taking into account the fact that the cooking method we have chosen (which you will see in detail later) allows us to make the meat lighter and more digestible while keeping most of the nutrients it contains, it is certain that both adults and children at your table would loudly appreciate it and be very satisfied with their meal.

So, if you enjoy meat and your mouth is already watering, keep reading! In this article, you will find many good reasons to prepare this dish as soon as possible and various tips for choosing the ingredients and for the preparation.

When meat brings so much flavour and immense satisfaction to the table

As previously stated, burgers are a popular food that, when prepared properly, can please even the pickiest eaters. Nonetheless, selecting the appropriate minced beef is the first step. Obviously, you can choose between several sorts and favour the one that matches your preferences and needs for nutrition. As an alternative, you can use one that is already made, making sure to select the one that best suits your preferences and tastes.

Regardless, it goes without saying that the key to making a delicious grilled burger is to use high-quality, fresh meat that isn’t overly fatty. You will undoubtedly find a great product at the grocery store counter or from your reliable butcher. If you choose organic ingredients, you will surely bring an even tastier and more genuine second course rich in proteins and nutrients that should not be underestimated to the table.

Once the meat has been selected, you will need a delicious side dish, like organic veggies that you can grill or season to your taste. What about the sauces, then? A nice mayonnaise, cocktail sauce, or barbecue sauce are your options. If you do not overdo the doses, you will certainly be dealing with a delicious dish where the flavour of the meat is the undisputed protagonist of your dish!

A useful tip for preparing a burger

When you’ve carefully selected all of the ingredients, it will be time to heat up the burner and make a great burger bun. As previously said, grilling is a healthy cooking technique that eliminates the need for additional fats. Therefore, I recommend that you equip yourself with a good grill pan, which will present itself as a reliable, versatile tool and capable of guaranteeing you a much more genuine diet… even if you do not use a real grill on the embers!

By selecting one that is resistant, useful, and practical, you can make a grilled burger that is exceptional from all angles. Most of the fat will drip during preparation, making your meal lighter and more digestible, and you will have the possibility of controlling the level of cooking based on your preferences. In short, selecting the right ingredients is essential, but choosing valid allies in the kitchen is too!

What can we accompany the burger with?

Burgers go well with French fries, mashed potatoes, spinach, buttered green beans, potato salad, and chopped parsley. They are also used to stuff “giant” buns with lettuce leaves and raw tomato slices; anyone with gluten intolerances or coeliac disease must use the approved bread. Place a dollop of ketchup sauce in the middle of each burger, then top the minced beef with a teaspoon of mustard, freshly ground pepper, or finely chopped onion. I suggest giving these homemade sauces a try. They are excellent and genuine.

Nowadays, barbecue sauce is a must-have for neighbourhood picnics due to its deliciousness; it pairs well with grilled meats, Fondue Bourguignonne. It is a unique condiment with a powerful flavour that is both sweet and sour, and therefore suitable for those who love strong flavours!

Because Worcester sauce is such a versatile condiment, its strength lies in balance and delicacy. The combinations leave room for imagination; however, this sauce gives its best, especially in fish-based dishes, both soups and second courses (after all, the sauce is made with anchovies). This does not mean, however, that the sauce cannot enhance meat-based second courses. In fact, it goes very well with dishes of this type, as long as they are spicy. In recent times, the habit of seasoning burgers with Worcester sauce has become widespread. This, in a way, elevates what would usually be seen as fast food to a gourmet level.

Ketchup: a few simple and genuine ingredients, such as ripe tomatoes, a little onion, apple cider vinegar, raw cane sugar, extra virgin olive oil, salt, and corn starch, are used to obtain an impeccable result. You’ll have a tasty, wholesome sauce that works well for any meal. To put it briefly, your ketchup will be an enormous hit and improve every meal you prepare, including potatoes, fish, meat, and your favourite finger foods like burgers.

Gravy sauce is generally used to enhance meat-based second courses. Since it is made with turkey broth, it is therefore perfect on white meat, especially those cooked in the oven or on the grill, which risk being dry. However, it adequately enhances red meats and even fish.

Blueberry sauce is mainly reserved for sweet and sour preparations. It can turn any savoury dish into a sweet and sour one because of its powerful flavour. As such, it works particularly well for meat-based second courses. It goes perfectly with red meat second courses but is also appreciated with white meat second courses, perhaps chicken and turkey.

Today’s special, salmon trout burger, a quick but exceptional meal

I give you a recipe for a salmon trout burger that mixes the best gourmet cuisine with street food, all inspired by the burger. Who said that a burger couldn’t be a sophisticated, nutrient-dense, and even light dish? Naturally, it relies on what’s within, or more specifically, the ingredients that it is made up of. In this example, the list of ingredients has been properly thought out and demonstrates a significant attention to the concept of eating well and eating healthily.

We are not discussing a traditional beef burger, which is composed of beef and laden with an unknown amount of condiments. We’re talking about a fish burger enhanced with honey mustard, a unique condiment known for its blend of sweet and sour flavours. Of course, the recipe would not be the same without tomatoes and lettuce, which give it colour, flavour, and nutrition. The primary ingredient, salmon trout, which is the end product of a relatively complex process, is the only aspect of the recipe that requires skill to create.

How to prepare salmon trout?

Our burger calls for the preparation of salmon trout, which is complex but doable. To get the best outcome, just follow the directions, paying particular attention to the ingredient doses. There are a lot of other recipes you can find that use salmon trout, but I think the easiest and best is salmon trout with cucumber and celery sauce. In short, the recipe calls for frying the trout in a skillet with a small amount of heated oil over medium heat before turning it up to a higher temperature. Equally easy to make is the cucumber cream, which is something that should be incorporated into the burger rather than the traditional cucumber in oil. Add the salt, basil, and cubed cucumbers to a blender and blend.

That said, let’s briefly evaluate the major qualities of trout, a food to be treated seriously, also because it shines in many areas. In actuality, trout is a tasty, adaptable, and nutrient-dense food.  In this regard, the myth according to which trout is a second-rate freshwater fish and far inferior to salmon must be dispelled. In reality, it competes with it in terms of nutritional properties. In fact, it is characterized by an excellent quantity of “good” fats; the reference is to the famous omega-3 fatty acids, which benefit the cardiovascular system, vision, and the central nervous system. Furthermore, they contain a lot of phosphorus, a substance that, among other things, supports cognitive performance. Finally, the caloric intake is very low; in fact, 100 grammes of trout provides only 140 kcal.

The entire honey mustard flavour

This salmon trout burger has mayonnaise, ketchup, and honey mustard as its primary condiments instead of traditional mustard. These condiments are undoubtedly fattier and less healthy, but they’re not very dangerous either. Conversely, honey mustard offers certain benefits in terms of its nutritional composition. This sauce is a reservoir of nutrients since it contains both honey and mustard at the same time.

The reference is to some antioxidants, which benefit the body in many ways and even act as anti-cancer functions. Mustard is also rich in mineral salts and vitamins. But because the flavour is meant to be both sweet and sour, it can give meals—especially those that contain meat and fish—depth on an organoleptic level. The recipe for honey mustard is not difficult, but the sauce can easily be obtained at the grocery store. It is a typically Anglo-Saxon condiment, but it is relatively easy to find in Italy too because it is generally more appreciated than normal mustard. Are you ready to start cooking?
